Display Case
In order to provide the citizens of Houston County with materials that will contribute to research, education, recreation, civic and cultural pursuits, and positive use of leisure time, the public library is happy to make its public display cases available to the general public under the same guidelines as it makes materials of all types available. In order to present as many displays as possible and include as many citizens as possible, the library will limit the use of the case to one display per person per year. Individual non-library sponsored displays are limited to one month. The library reserves the right to leave the case available for library use to promote library programs, to feature information of state, local, or regional interest, or for seasonal displays and literacy based events.
The library assumes no responsibility for any collection that is displayed in the case. The case will remain locked, but the library will not be responsible for any damage or theft that may occur while the display is in the case.
Public Bulletin Boards
The Houston County Library System provides a public bulletin board where patrons may post items of civic or community interest. The item must be approved, initialed, and dated by a library staff member before it is placed on the bulletin board, subject to space limitations. Approved items will remain on the bulletin board for 2 weeks, and then are removed by library staff. Any items found on the bulletin board without dated staff approval will be removed immediately.
Free Materials Table
The library makes available a table, if space is available, for citizens to place free materials for patrons to pick up and take home. The library is not responsible for any materials placed on the free table. The library also assumes no responsibility for implied or express endorsement or sponsorship of content or theme of these free materials.
