Friends of the Library

The date for the Friends of the Houston County Library Old Book Sale has been changed to August 20 – 22, 2020.  More information will be posted soon.

Friends of the Library are concerned citizens who share the belief that a strong public library is a valuable intellectual, cultural, educational and recreational resource in the community. Through their volunteer activities and fund raising efforts, Friends assist the Library in developing programs to meet community needs.

Since 2005 the Friends have donated more than $409,795.11 to the library system for the purchase of books, audio books, materials and children’s programs.

Support the Houston County Public Library system by:

• Donating gently used books at any Houston library
• Buying used books & media from the Lobby Sales at each library branch
• Volunteering to work at the annual Old Book Sale.
